Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8am – 12 Noon

Residential Trash Service
Grayson County provides weekly trash service to residence of the County. The day of your trash collection depends on where you are located in the County.
Residents are limited to 4 garbage bags of trash OR 4 containers, the containers can not be over 32 gallons.
Bins constructed to house containers MUST NOT be over (32″) Thirty Two Inches tall, and must be approved by GCPW.
Individual containers and bags may not weigh over 40 pounds.
Containers or bags should be placed 3′ – 4′ from edge of public road no later than 7:30 am; however they should not obstruct the route of the postman..
Our Public Works department is closed on the following Holidays:

Thanksgiving Day
Our Public Works department is also closed if road conditions are such as to put employees and the public in danger during the winter months.
On the days that there will be no trash collection, there will be an announcement on the Galax radio station 98.1 WBRF and the Marion radio station 93.9 WMEV by 7:00 am. Trash scheduled for pickup on these days will be picked up on the following week WEATHER PERMITTING.
